Let's have a garden party

Summer seems to be so far away...
I miss the smell of flowers, of grass, of strawberries and cherries. Even the sun has a smell; dusty, warm and lovely as it shines on your back, leaving shadows where your clothes are.
I miss the sound of whistling birds, the rustling of papers being turned, the screams of children in the cool water.
I miss sitting in the garden with a glass of sparkling wine, reading a book, feeling the sun warming your shoulders.

In my head, it's warm. I'm sitting in the sun in France, hearing the sound of the sea with sand between my toes. I'm sitting in the garden, having a barbecue party with my friends. I'm sitting on the porch, drinking tea with the ladies.
And at night, we are lying in bed together, clammy because of the heat, waiting for the thunder and the rain to refresh the day.

In my mind, the school year is over and we have all the time of the world to do what we want.
We sing, we dance, we swim and we lie down in the grass.
We travel, we see the world, and at the end, we come home and tell stories.
It's sweet, coming together at the end of the summer.
It's good to see how we changed and still are the same.
How we grew, experienced, saw.
How we remembered, missed and came back to our own lifes eventually.
Because there's nothing like home...

And after a few weeks, a few months, we all are together in class again, talking, laughing and having fun.
But I think that time is over when this school year ends.
There are new things waiting for us.
University, new cities, new friends.
Living on your own, going to college, becoming indepentant.
Growing up...

But before that time, we'll go through some things together. And even when we have parted, we still will be together. At least, in my mind we will.
'Cause in my mind, there is an eternal end of Summer...

With love,
Kirsten

I can still recall our last summer, I still see it all.
Walks along the Seine, laughing in the rain,
Our last summer, memories that remain.

We made our way along the river

And we sat down in the grass by the Eiffel tower.
I was so happy we had met, it was the age of no regret, oh yes.
Those crazy years, that was the time of the flower-power.
But underneath, we had a fear of flying,
Of getting old, a fear of slowly dying.
We took the chance like we were dancing our last dance

I can still recall our last summer, I still see it all

In the tourist jam, round the Notre Dame
Our last summer, walking hand in hand

Happy birthday to me...

Yes, it is my birthday, oh yeah, aha!
Yes I'm fin'lly 17, oh yeah, aha!

Okay, just a short message because I just could not not do it.
Yes, today is my 17th birthday, and that's all I wanted to say.
And if I could, I would send all of you a cupcake... Made them yesterday with Jasmijn, and we had great fun.
Hope today will be as much fun! I really wonder what my parents and sisters are going to give me... Exciting!

Thanks to all my readers for taking the time to read my stories and leave such wonderful comments and reactions... I love you all.

Kirsten

There's something about Christmas time...

Oh, I hope we are finally getting a white Christmas this year!
Wouldn't that be wonderful?
Though snow is cold, sticky, wet and not really comfortable to move through, it looks so cute, this white, fluffy cuteness definitely has something about it.
Now, Christmas...
My mother decided our colour-theme is silver/white/red this year, and I have to say that I like it. We have silver in the tree, and then red candles, ribbons and these lovely red amaryllis (I just found out they're also called Belladonna Lily, and I like that name more). It's almost see-through here, so it has some delicate air.

Yesterday, I bought all the presents for my family, which was a BIG thing, because I also have a BIG family (parents, three sisters, me, grandparents, and three uncles and three aunts this year), but I had great fun and I think I bought them presents they will like.
It also is very crowded at my work now, but it's a nice kind of crowdiness. Everyone buys lots of food for the Christmasdays, and everyone is friendlier, and we offer them Christmas-candy and they like it, so it's definitely a good mood there.
And I just found out I received a Christmas-card from the managers of the supermarket I work in, which is very sweet of them I think. It does give you some extra feel-good-boost to go to work.

Now, presents... Here's my wishlist!

First, I have to say, anything nice and shiny will do. Nice jewels or something.
Also on the list:

A Pip-studio schoolbag. I like these the most, but any other is fine too, all of them are cute.

One of this cupcake-bags! A friend of mine spotted them when he went to school, and he told me he thought I would like them. Well, I do, indeed! Especially the blue one, so I have to find the shop and buy me one!
Good job, even more if we consider the fact that it's a guy who spotted them. I didn't know men had eye for things like this...

This Beatle-shirt. Absolutely cool, got to get it someway... Probably not for Christmas though, but I'm having my birthday in February, so maybe it would arrive in time for my birthday?

Some cute decorations for my room. Anything will do - pillows, candles, picture-frames, artworks, just everything! And these Russian dolls are so cool!

Movies, CD's, DVD's, books... Love it all. Eclipse is on my list, and I would not mind at all if Robert Pattinson stopped by to give it to me personally. I probably would get myself another thing for Christmas then... (a BOYFRIEND! XD)

And now... No, I don't want a puppy-dog.
Guess what this image stands for?
Just right, LOVE!

Now, anyone who wants a cute, decorated gingerbread-doll?
Have a merry Christmas and wonderfull days!

With Love,
Kirsten

Something about Christmas time
Which makes you wish it was Christmas every day...

A cup filled with treasures.

It's sweet.
It's lovely.
It's heart-shaped.
It's pink, white, orange, yellow, the soft, sweet colors.

See? If we imagine this as a passage and we could walk into this, what would it be like?
Happy, innocent, cute, shiny, just like a sweet and sultry summer evening.

I've taken these pictures a while ago with my cell phone's camera, so that's why the quality isn't that good, but maybe, that blurry effect is doing part of the job here.
I like them anyway! ^^

And then, there's more... Something just as sweet, pink and cute as the little hearts.
It's a cupcake.
And it's all yours ;-)
I wish I could bake one for everyone...

With love,
Kirsten

If cupcakes could talk, what would they say?

Yeah, I know this doens't make sense, cupcakes can't talk and I know that very well.
But, just being inquisitive, I was wondering what they actually would say if they had a change to say something.
Hm, if I were a cupcake, what would I say...
A lot, I think. But that has nothing to do with cupcakes, but with me, I'm a HUGE chatterbox, so I don't think I would change that if I were a cupcake.
Oh, well, I'm going to make up a little Cupcake-conversation:
Cupcake 1: Hiya!
Cupcake 2: Ciao!
Cupcake 1: Hi!
Cupcake 2: Hello!
Cupcake 1: How are you?
Cupcake 2: I'm fine, see, new decoration!
Cupcake 1: Oh, I see, looks good on you!
Cupcake 2: Thanks, have to say I like it, too.

And then... I don't know anything they would say. Perhaps it's a good thing cupcakes don't talk. It would be hard to eat something which is babbling all the time =)
Anyway, they're cute! And if there's one thing I really like...

Snow-Madness!

Hi!
Sorry for my non-posting week. It's unbelieveable, I really can't imagine that I've only been to school for a week, Christmas looks so long ago...
School goes on as boring as before, and the snow is still falling from the sky. Since over a week, everything is covered in white, which looks absolutely sweet. Snow looks so pure and soft.
I went sleighing with my sisters yesterday, there's a meadow near our house and some slopes which are perfect sleighriding.
So we dressed up warm, wearing some retro ski-clothes. I wore my mother's old blue snowboard-jacket, which I found disgusting at first, it's so huge, but it was supposed to be like that, and I just put it on. To my utter surprise, it looked kind of funny.
The only thing they coulnd't get me in was a repulsive pink skitrousers. No way I'm gonna wear that while being alive.
So, when te four of us (I use to call us Girlie Beatles, beacuse we're a great team, just like they were. Once.) were ready, we went outside for some winter-wonderland-fun!

Of course, a day in the snow isn't complete without smashing snowballs into each others faces and hair! I throw pretty good, honestly, but my lovely family prefers to butter your face...

Ahw, Jytte!
We really had fun, I almost drove over Tjorven with my sleigh (fortunately, I did something -don't know what exactly- to avoid killing her), we rolled down the slopes together and threw snowballs.

Yeah, I went nuts. A very looooong time ago. This is in the garden, where Svenne and I had a little more fun after the sleighriding.
But, after all this fun, I started freezing, so it was time to go inside...

And enjoy a nice, hot Latte! Move over Starbucks, I got my own lattes now.
No, that's not entirely true. I could never chuck Starbucks.

And, oh, besides the snow, I have developed another new obsession today. It's sparkly, it's cute, it's great, it's awesome. And it's a little over the top, just like me:

Here you see it in Sex&The City: The Movie, one of my fav fashion movies. You should be able to figure out what the object of my obsession is...

Oh, this bag's just... it! It's tiny and cute and shiny, perfect!
And it is €4,272.98. Which means that I should win the lottery, or get a well-paying job very soon... and that means I should tutor English 854 hours, or work in the kitchenstudio for 170 evenings, or babysit for 1220 hours... Doesn't sound that attractive at all. Hmm... I prefer my dad winning the lottery, that would be the best -easiest!- solution.
But since the chance of winning the lottery is smaller than getting killed by a terrorist, I will have to find another way...
Maybe a very rich boyfriend! Well, I wouldn't say no if he wanted to buy me this. But love isn't about things like that, and I don't have the faintest idea of who should be that boyfiend. (though... there is one guy who I wouldn't say no to. His picture is right next to this, the one in the red-black shirt)
Well, my fantasy is still working, at least. But I'm not giving up! I'll figure something out. I could happen to find a winning lottery-form or they could discover me as an actress, or I could stumble across that boyfriend tomorrow!
Yeah, what would a life be without dreaming...

Enjoy the snow!

A little birdie told me it was someone's birthday...

HAPPY BIRTDAY, FLEUR!
A little digital cupcake for you!
I know you can't eat this one like the one you received this morning from Nadja, but I hope you'll like this cutie, too.
It even has a candle on top. It's only one candle, but 15 candles would let no place left for decoration!
And cupcakes without decoration are like a life without friends, it would be empty, it would look ridiculous, it would be sad, it would be DULL.
